About the studio

Considered from several angles — not treated as an isolated design task.

Noknok Studios began in 2012, building on earlier experience in website design and development. Since then, we have worked with hundreds of clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Nikki leads each website project, with Nopera contributing strategic and technical direction where it adds value. That range helps us consider how the website fits the wider business.

  • Brand and website strategy
  • Copywriting and content structure
  • Creative direction
  • UI/UX
  • Website design and development
  • Ecommerce
  • Product and platform direction
  • SEO
  • Integrations
  • Packaging and print
  • Photography
  • Design systems

The founders

Nikki Prokop, Co-founder and Creative Director

Nikki Prokop

Co-founder & Creative Director

Nikki leads each website project from the initial intake through content, design, build and launch. Her work often begins by identifying what the business needs people to understand and what the current website is failing to communicate.

She then carries that thinking through the content, hierarchy, imagery and finished website.

Recommended: a considered portrait of Nopera Whitley, matched to Nikki's in weight and treatment.

Nopera Whitley

Co-founder — Strategy, product & technology

Nopera works across business strategy, website positioning, product direction and more complex technical decisions, with more than ten years building and leading digital platforms, ecommerce systems and software products across Australia and New Zealand.

He is strongest where business needs and technology decisions meet — clarifying what a website or platform needs to achieve and making sure technical complexity is justified by a real business need.

How we begin

Before deciding how a website should look, we work out what matters.

  • Who needs to trust the business
  • What they need to understand
  • Which services matter most
  • What commonly causes hesitation
  • What makes the business credible
  • What action the website should encourage

You do not need to provide design instructions. You need to explain the business honestly and review whether the result feels accurate.

Location

Based in Doncaster East, working across Melbourne, Australia and New Zealand.
